Job summary

TREK Development Group in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Jeremiah Village & Sisters of St Joseph properties (67 units). The role involves routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance to keep the community safe and comfortable.

You will respond to service requests, handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry tasks, and assist with exterior upkeep. A High School diploma or GED and 2+ years multi-site experience preferred; valid driver's license and background

Qualifications

• Minimum two years multi-site, multi-family property ops exp.
• Two years hands-on experience in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, electrical repairs.
• Valid driver's license and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform repairs to vacant apartments for new residents.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fixtures.
• Paint, carpentry, and drywall repairs as needed.
• Maintain exterior curb appeal and grounds of the community.
• Complete work orders promptly per company policies.
• Provide preventive maintenance for building systems.
• Be aware of utility cut-offs and sewer cleanouts.
• Weekend work and on-call rotation as required.

After 90 days of employment, employees can opt in to flex their schedule to work four 10 hour shifts or Tuesday – Saturday each week.

We are currently seeking an engaged and passionate professional to serve as Maintenance Technician to our Jeremiah Village & Sisters of St Joseph properties with a combined 67 units.The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the performing inspections and basic repairs or preventative maintenance. To do well in this role you will display pride in your work and enjoy day-to-day maintenance problem-solving using your skills and various hand and power tools. The Maintenance Technician takes pride in the community and motivates others to do the same.

Under the direction of the Community Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for

Essential Functions:

• Prepare and perform all necessary repairs to vacant apartments for new residents.
• Respond to all service requests and on-call emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
• Diagnose, repair, and/or replacement may include, but are not limited to: HVAC (including filters, belts, and thermostats), windows, latches, screens, hinges, sliding glass doors, shelves, baseboards, mirrors and closets, cabinets, countertops, appliances, plumbing and fixtures, faucets, valves, pumps, garbage disposal, toilet, window treatments, ceramic tile, grout, caulk, electrical, roofing, walkway, asphalt, painting, carpeting, and drywall.
• Painting, carpentry, and drywall repairs follow RRP protocol as needed.
• Assist in maintaining the exterior of the property to provide curb appeal, upkeep of grounds of community, including snow removal.
• Complete work order requests in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Provide preventative maintenance for all buildings’ systems, equipment, and components.
• Be aware of all utility meter cut-offs, apartment and fixture cut-offs, and sewer cleanouts.
• Be available for weekend work, on-call rotation, and emergency service call duties.
  

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or GED; trade school and/or Industry-Trade certifications/Degrees (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC) preferred.
• Minimum of twoyears of multi-site, multi-family, multi-property type operational management experience — preferably with a portfolio of properties that contain a mix of residential property types or a comparable role in hotel/resort/retail management.
• Must demonstrate a minimum of two years of advanced hands‑on experience in one or more trades —plumbing, HVAC, boiler, carpentry, appliance, and electrical repairs.
• Valid driver licenses required.
• Child abuse clearances and background check required.
  

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

This position is very active, with occasional lifting and/or moving of items up to 80 pounds. Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Occasional outside weather condition exposure. This job may include evening, weekend, and holiday hours, to support emergency repairs.
