Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform diverse duties maintaining production and facility equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain motors, conveyors, engines, and piping systems to support manufacturing goals.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, and the ability to use welding equipment and hand tools. Safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems and plumbing.
  • Experience with field repairs and maintenance in a production/industrial setting.
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Observe equipment in operation and identify causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to access defective parts and replace them.
  • Inspect parts for wear and dimensional changes; lubricate and clean parts.
  • Repair or replace defective components; install parts and equipment.
  • Test devices after repairs to ensure proper performance.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic electrical work under supervision.
  • Coordinate with maintenance team to initiate parts orders when needed.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies during all maintenance activities.

Job description

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Repairs and maintains building systems, machinery, and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

A Day In The Life
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices, lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts, installs special functional and structural parts in devices, lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Uses welding equipment, machine tools and hand tools to repair machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Does general maintenance work such as routine plumbing, electrical carpentry, painting and preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Initiates material order requests for parts and machines. Repairs minor electrical problems under the supervision of the plant electrician.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to push up to 75 pounds, bend, kneel, and climb as needed.
  • Technical Skills.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and plumbing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience with PVC, CPVC, and black steel pipe is preferred.
