Job summary

Progressive Foam Tech, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support our Beach City and nearby plant operations.

The role focuses on preventive maintenance, downtime reduction, and safety-first practices while collaborating with maintenance and production teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems, be able to mentor junior technicians, and adapt to a 3rd shift with weekend work.

Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of blue print and schematic reading.
• Intermediate knowledge of plumbing – copper, black iron, steel, pvc piping.
• Intermediate knowledge of pneumatic devices and troubleshooting.
• Intermediate knowledge of steam boilers and operating systems.
• Intermediate knowledge of hydraulic devices and troubleshooting.
• Advanced ability to install electrical conduit and wire circuitry.
• Intermediate knowledge of water treatment testing.
• Intermediate use of milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, pipe threading machine.
• Intermediate knowledge of Lubrication.
• Intermediate knowledge of fork lift operation and repair.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Complete Knowledge of Safe work practices, PPE, LOTO, Confined Space, Hot work.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical machinery and troubleshooting.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical circuits, control systems and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a positive attitude and displays Company Core Values.
• Observes and adheres to Plant Safety rules.
• Properly uses power hand tools – drill, grinder, impact tools.
• Uses volt/ohm meter for electrical tasks.
• Performs basic carpentry tasks.
• Completes routine and non-routine maintenance tasks as directed.
• Maintains willingness to learn through manuals, courses, and training.
• Logs daily work and parts usage in computer data systems.
• Works any shift and overtime including call-outs.
• Maintains steam system equipment.
• Maintains water treatment through sampling/testing.
• Able to lead, mentor and train other technicians.
• Acts as supervisor in absence of Maintenance Manager.
