Maintenance Technician, 3rd Shift (10pm-6:30am) - Up to $50.00/hour

The Maintenance Technician ensures the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities in a food manufacturing environment. This role requires technical skills, problem-solving, and a focus on safety and hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Safety and Food Safety: Follow all safety and food safety standards.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery such as conveyors, mixers, and refrigeration systems.
- Inspect, lubricate, and adjust equipment to ensure efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
- Respond to emergency repairs during production.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in production areas.
- Monitor and repair facility systems like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and participate in safety training.
- Ensure compliance with regulations (SQF, GMP, HACCP, OSHA).
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep accurate maintenance records.
- Document repairs and maintenance activities.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with production teams to prioritize tasks.
- Communicate with engineering, QA, and safety teams.
- Train production staff on equipment and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Technical school education.
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in food processing.
- 5 years of troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Electrical troubleshooting on PLCs, relays, and control systems.
- Proficiency with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI, and SCADA.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, drives, sensors.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.
- Proficient in using computers for documentation.
- Valid California driver’s license and ability to operate industrial equipment.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Exposure to dust, fumes, noise, vibration, and weather elements.
- Physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, climbing, and operating equipment.
- Travel less than 5% for training or related activities.
