Job summary

Rockline Industries, Inc. in Sheboygan seeks a Maintenance Technician to coordinate machine repairs and enhancements, support TPM and continuous improvements, and train associates to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.

The role emphasizes safety-sensitive duties and non-exempt status on a 3rd shift. Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years in manufacturing maintenance, with journeyman certification or active apprenticeship enrollment preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Candidate may be enrolled in a trade apprenticeship.
• Experience with TPM, preventative/predictive maintenance, operator basic care, and equipment efficiency metrics.
• Electrical, mechanical, machine rigging, light fabrication, power transmission, bearings, lubrication, pneumatic.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, analytical, mathematical and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with PCs and Microsoft Office is preferred.
• PC/PLC control systems experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of converting, slitting, winding, filling, packaging and related equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to operations equipment in a timely manner through root cause analysis.
• Complete machine enhancement projects.
• Collaborate with process improvement engineers to drive standardized work and increase throughput.
• Utilize maintenance software to track work progress and materials.
• Coordinate with Process Support Group to document major equipment issues and plan corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery and process equipment; perform general maintenance tasks.

• Support safe work practices and contribute to a cooperative team environment.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the coordination of machine repair and enhancement projects along with the necessary support systems to ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met on the assigned projects at the Rockline - Sheboygan facility. Responsible for equipment and tooling fabrication, and related associate training to ensure continuous process improvements.

Paid apprenticeship opportunity and advanced schooling through LTC.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Make repairs to operations equipment in a timely manner through root cause analysis.
• Complete machine enhancement projects.
• Work closely with process improvement engineers to drive standardized work, reduce scrap, and increase throughput.
• Utilize maintenance software to track all team members' work progress and materials to ensure timely completion of work orders and employee performance accountability.
• Work with Process Support Group to identify and document major equipment-related issues and establish an organized plan to implement corrective action.
• Troubleshoot and repair all machinery and process-related deficiencies using electrical/mechanical skills. This includes performing general maintenance duties for all facility-related equipment.

This position is designated as Safety-Sensitive (A safety-sensitive position is one in which the associate’s inability or impaired ability to perform their job-related tasks could result in a direct threat to the associate’s safety or the safety of others).

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 5 years maintenance experience within a manufacturing setting required.
• In lieu of 5 years of experience, candidates actively pursuing education or training in the maintenance field may be considered.
• Journeyman card or 10+ years maintenance experience preferred.
• Candidate may be required to enroll in a trade apprenticeship.
• Working knowledge of TPM, preventative/predictive maintenance, operator basic care, and equipment efficiency metrics and measures.
• Electrical, mechanical, machine rigging, light fabrication, power transmission, bearings, lubrication, pneumatic.
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong leadership, verbal, written, analytical, mathematical, reasoning, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with PCs, including the Microsoft Office family, is preferred
• PC / PLC control systems is preferred.
• Working knowledge of paper/nonwovens converting, slitting, winding, filling, packaging, sealing, conveying, and associated equipment is preferred.

Compensation

• $28 per hour minimum starting base rate, based on experience.
• Competitive range based on experience and education.
• Plus $2.00 shift premium for 3rd shift.
• Maintenance Techs have additional opportunities for continued career advancement.

Schedule

• 3rd Shift
• Monday - Thursday: 8:30 PM – 6:30 AM
• $2.00/hr Shift Premium
• Overtime is available, but not required
