Qualifications

• General mechanical knowledge and ability to pass maintenance testing.

Job description

Description: Looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of heating systems, refrigeration, basic electricity, and mechanics.
• Able to read electrical schematics, reset breakers, test fuses, install & align a pump, and understand basic rigging.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of production and processing equipment as well as utility related equipment in compliance with all safety procedures.
• Support the installation of new equipment, support and implementation of preventive maintenance program.
• Assist the machine operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
• Ensure all repairs are documented.
• Keep management informed of any maintenance issues.
• Complete work orders as assigned.
• Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive.
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
• Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity.
• Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
• Work schedule includes on call and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• General mechanical and maintenance knowledge - must be able to pass appropriate maintenance testing.
• 4 years of process manufacturing environment maintenance work experience required.
• Certification and/or License -- 2 year formal mechanical and/or electrical education certificate preferred.
