The Maintenance Team is a matrix organization within Beyond Meat that is dedicated to creating food products that are leading the gold standard in plant-based proteins. They are looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located in Devault, PA as a Maintenance Technician.

The Maintenance Technician will perform journey level work which will require previous experience in a similar industrial setting. The second tiered technicians should be able to perform a broader range of more complex tasks, will require less supervision, and may occasionally provide technical direction to less experienced maintenance staff. They will also be responsible for providing general mechanical and electrical maintenance and upkeep of the equipment and building.

TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. LOTO training on all equipment types, prove to be proficient in all areas via LOTO audits
2. Assist with equipment moving, set up, and leveling
3. Pre-start up lubrication on critical equipment such as forming equipment, stuffers, and IQF spirals
4. On the job training and assisting other technicians with support repair work, preventive maintenance work, and project work
5. Willingness and skill to be a powered industrial truck operator, in order to move or assist in moving small equipment, parts and/or supplies
6. Maintain and clean tools, parts, equipment and maintenance areas as required by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at a food manufacturing facility
7. Learn basic assembly and operation of primary plant equipment, forming equipment, stuffers, IQF spiral, packing equipment, labelers and date coders
8. Use of troubleshooting tools, such as a Digital Multi-Meter (DMM), Meggar (Mega-Ohmmeter), temperature probes, etc.
9. Basic machine troubleshooting
10. Ability to check for primary power supply, air supply, water supply, etc.
11. Provide basic knowledge of 480V, 240V and 120V power
12. General repairs to include conveyor belt, V-belt, pneumatic fittings, hose, tubes hydraulic fittings, replacements and testing after replacement for machine functionality
13. Ability and skill to operate scissors lift, forklift, and other industrial equipment upon completion of training
14. Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
15. Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:

1. Associates degree or technical degree from a trade school and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in manufacturing preferred.
2. Minimum 3 – 6 years of experience in a food and/or beverage manufacturing environment preferred.
3. Valid driver’s license

Other qualifications:

1. Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus, not a requirement (DEPA only)
2. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
3. Flexibility to work any/all shifts to support a high growth work environment.
4. Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and holidays sometimes with short or no notice.
5. Must be capable of writing detailed reports, general day-to-day oversight, and related correspondence.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

1. Warehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas.

3. Position requires the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, step, balance, crouch, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, must be able to lift minimal 50 lbs. consistently, reach above shoulders, or as needed to complete tasks.
4. Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks.
5. Position located in a mix of production and office environments and requires a tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10-40˚ F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures.
6. This position will be required to visit the production floor, refrigerated and frozen storage, and warehouses.
7. Work flexible shifts as required.
8. Understand that overtime and occasional weekends and/or worked holidays will be required based on company needs.

Hourly rate commensurate with experience
The starting hourly base pay for this role is between USD $24.50 and $33.75 per hour. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
