Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a maintenance technician to service converting and corrugating equipment in our plant. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, following safety policies, and maintaining equipment to ensure quality production.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, be able to provide own tools, and have experience in the corrugated industry or strong instruction-following abilities. Overtime and various shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Provide own tools necessary to perform maintenance tasks.
• Experience in corrugated industry preferred.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.
• Follow PCA and plant procedures, protocols and safety policies.
• Troubleshoot programmable controllers and troubleshoot and repair A/C and D/C drives and their control systems.
• Maximize equipment utilization and run at capacity and speed.
• Follow up all work to ensure repairs and work are performed properly.
• Use maintenance software programs effectively.
• Complete paperwork neatly and in accordance with company guidelines.
• Willing to work all necessary hours and shifts, including overtime.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Responsible for maintaining all converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.
• Follow all PCA and plant procedures, protocols and safety policies
• Demonstrate ability to parallel all rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.
• Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot programmable controllers and troubleshoot and repair all A/C and D/C drives and their control systems use.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.
• Follow up all work in order to insure repairs and work are performed properly.
• Demonstrate ability to use all aspects of the maintenance software program.
• Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
• Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Help maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Provide own tools necessary to perform maintenance tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
