Job summary

Delmarva Corrugated Packaging is seeking a maintenance technician to keep converting and corrugating equipment running at peak efficiency. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, troubleshoot programmable controllers and drive systems, and ensure paperwork accuracy and safety compliance.

The role requires 2–3 years of mechanical automation experience, own tools, and the ability to work all shifts.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of Mechanical Automation System installation & troubleshooting experience.
  • Own tools required to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Prior experience in the corrugated industry preferred; hydraulic/pneumatic knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot programmable controllers and AC/DC drives and control systems.
  • Follow maintenance schedule and complete paperwork per guidelines.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety compliance.
  • Willing to work all shifts and hours.

Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining all converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime. Practice safe work habits always.Demonstrate ability to parallel all rolls and make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products. Demonstrate ability to teach other maintenance classifications in all qualification requirements and proper maintenance procedures. Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot programmable controllers and troubleshoot and repair all A/C and D/C drives and their control systems.Demonstrate ability to use all aspects of the maintenance software program.Follow up on all work to ensure repairs and work are performed properly. Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed. Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines. Help maintain good housekeeping in work areas. Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment and adhere to the production maintenance schedule. Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Military training and/or Technical School preferred 2-3 years of Mechanical Automation System Installation & Troubleshooting Experience. Provide own tools necessary to perform maintenance tasks. Prior work experience in the corrugated industry is PREFERRED. A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, decimals, measurements, volume, and rates. Able to apply concepts of basic math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply reasonable understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following: Equipment design and capabilities can be translated into efficient operation. Product/Machine layouts and machine specifications. Product quality specifications. Quality standards.
