Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) in New Oxford, PA is seeking a maintenance technician to service converting and corrugating equipment, minimize downtime, and uphold safety policies. You will troubleshoot PLCs and drive systems, perform preventive maintenance, and document work while supporting overtime and shift needs.

  • Complete all paperwork neatly and per company guidelines.
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Responsible for maintaining all converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Follow all PCA and plant procedures, protocols and safety policies
  • Demonstrate ability to parallel all rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot programmable controllers and troubleshoot and repair all A/C and D/C drives and their control systems use.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.
  • Follow up all work in order to insure repairs and work are performed properly.
  • Demonstrate ability to use all aspects of the maintenance software program.
  • Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Help maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Provide own tools necessary to perform maintenance tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Starting salary for position: $29.31- $39.44 per hour. Depending on skill level
  • Bonus: Annual - Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
  • Paid Vacation: 2 weeks per year.
  • Paid Holidays.
  • Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
  • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
