Packaging Corporation of America seeks a Maintenance Technician at our South Gate corrugated facility to maintain converting and corrugating equipment, minimize downtime, and keep operations safe and efficient.

You will diagnose, repair, and test mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, follow lock-out/tag-out safety rules, and work overtime as needed. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and training to grow your skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of industrial maintenance experience.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, stoop and bend.
• Overtime and weekend work as needed.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Maintain converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Follow safety policies including lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Visually inspect and test machinery through preventive maintenance.
• Work various shifts and be on-call when required.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.

We are seeking applicants for Maintenance Technician in our South Gate corrugated facility located at 9700 Frontage Road East, South Gate, CA 90280

Pay Rate: $30.37 - $46.73 per hour based on skills Competitive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, 401K, Gain Sharing Bonus, Vacation, Holidays...

PCA provides up to 100 paid training hours per year to help technicians advance through the progressive skill levels and achieve higher pay.

Technicians supply their own basic hand tools. PCA provides a tool stipend (or replacement) to help technicians maintain basic hand tools. PCA provides all special and heavy tools.

SUMMARY

• Responsible for maintaining all converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform a variety of maintenance tasks to diagnose, repair, rebuild, replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on all plant equipment and facilities.
• Must be able to follow all safety and company policies that include lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining all converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.
• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment by performing preventive and routine maintenance tasks.
• Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts and is able to work on call as needed.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year(s) Industrial Maintenance experience with troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery".
• Basic Electrical experience and troubleshooting ability
• Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical drawings.
• Able to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, stoop, and bend.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Computer proficiency including Microsoft and Windows products
• Experience with PLC programming, especially Siemens and Allen-Bradley a plus
• Experience with and knowledge on machine control systems
• Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment is preferred
• Technical degree in Mechanical or Electrical Trades is a plus

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary for position: $30.37 - $46.73 per hour.
• Bonus: Annual - Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 1 weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
