Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Marshfield, WI to diagnose, repair, and maintain plant manufacturing equipment. You will work with a team to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and ensure safe operations on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience, a technical degree, and a commitment to ongoing training.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of maintenance tasks to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on all plant manufacturing and support equipment.

Work as part of a team in a manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.

Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.

Work with a sense of urgency to reduce downtime of machines.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery or technical degree in related field.
• Must be willing to pursue ongoing technical training to enhance capabilities.
• Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as needed.
• Must have own tools.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly within the corrugated or packaging industry.
• 2 to 5 years of practical application experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance functions.

• Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation And Benefits

• Salary range for position: $25.39 - $43.16/hour DOE
• Bonus: Annual – Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 1 week per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
• Paid Holidays.
• Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision – and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
