Job description

Work Location: Fairfield

Position requires ability to work overtime. It may require varying start times, end times, and weekends depending on business needs.

Core Hours: 10:00pm – 6:30am

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing food processing and packaging equipment, including packaging filling and sealing machines, bucket scales, conveyors, motors, robotics, hoists, sorters, labelers, scanners, roller beds, and utility equipment. The role supports the achievement of factory business goals through predictive maintenance systems and processes.

Ways You Will Make a Difference
  • Maintain and repair food processing and packaging equipment and associated components
  • Install and maintain gearboxes, shafts, bearings, bushings, sprockets, sheaves, belts, and general mechanical equipment; perform equipment lubrication
  • Install and maintain electric motors, motor starters, sensors, switches, and general electric/electronic devices
  • Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Analyze mechanical operations of production equipment and initiate maintenance and repair actions as required
  • Use Computerized Maintenance Management System to report completed work
  • Generate parts requisitions using parts inventory control system
  • Complete preventive maintenance routines as assigned
  • Identify root cause of problems and propose and implement solutions

Experience that Will Support Your Success
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining pneumatic systems, air compressors, hydraulic systems, mechanical power, pumps, gearboxes, valves, heat exchangers, and mechanical components
  • Preferred experience in packaging, bottling, aircraft maintenance, mechatronics, automation, industrial repair facilities, sheet metal shop, and/or installation
  • Experience completing preventive maintenance activities
  • Welding experience preferred (MIG, TIG)
  • Knowledge of lock‑out/tag‑out procedures
  • High school diploma/GED; minimum 2 years of industrial mechanical experience or completion of a craft apprenticeship or an associate’s degree in a maintenance‑related field

Equivalent combinations of education and paid on‑the‑job experience in an industrial maintenance shop will be considered.

Physical Demands
