Job summary

Hendrickson in Elizabethtown, KY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maximize equipment uptime and support welding, forging and machining operations. You will work with engineering to address issues and help design/maintain new or modified systems.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of maintenance experience, PLC experience (Allen Bradley/Siemens), 480V systems, and skills across electrical, electronic, fluid power, mechanical, and plumbing domains. Welding and machining capability are required.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field.
  • 5–7 years of maintenance experience.
  • Experience with PLCs, preferably Allen Bradley and/or Siemens.
  • Experience with 480-volt electrical systems.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, fluid power, mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • FANUC Robotics background preferred.
  • Machining and welding capabilities required.
  • Computer literacy, Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
  • Complete periodic and incidental machine maintenance in an accurate and timely manner; perform preventive maintenance as outlined on schedules.
  • Plan and implement corrective actions in conjunction with management.
  • Maintain building, equipment, and grounds in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Assist in the purchase of maintenance supplies and equipment parts as required.
  • Accountable to production departments in meeting performance expectations to hourly and daily quality, delivery, productivity and cost metrics.
  • Record activities, downtime, and parts consumption; assist in training materials and sessions on manufacturing concepts.

Position Purpose
Maximize productive time of equipment. Improve the reliability and repeatability of production systems through trouble shooting and preventive maintenance activities. Provide support to production associates for the maintenance of their own equipment. This position will support both the welding and forging/machining operations, to include maintenance of all production equipment, and will work with engineering resources within the organization on forging, machining, and welding related issues, and assist in the design and maintenance new/modified systems.

Essential Functions
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
  • Complete periodic and incidental machine maintenance in an accurate and timely manner. Perform preventive maintenance as

outlined on preventive maintenance schedules of equipment manufacturer’s recommendations.

  • Plan and implement corrective actions in conjunction with management direction.
  • Maintain building, equipment, and grounds in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Assist in the purchase of maintenance supplies and equipment parts as required or directed.
  • Accountable to production departments in assisting with meeting performance expectations to hourly and daily quality,

delivery, productivity and cost metrics.

  • Help compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on manufacturing concepts and tooling. Interface with

other engineering components within the company and with the customers and suppliers on manufacturing related issues.

Record activities, downtime, and parts consumption as required by department leader.

Help implement new process implementation at the local plant level.

Education and Training
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or other related degree program or equivalent experience in applicable area.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have 5-7 years maintenance experience
  • 5 years of experience with PLC’s, preferably Allen Bradley and/or Siemens
  • Experience with 480 volt electrical systems
  • Must be proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, fluid power, mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • FANUC Robotics background preferred
  • Should be familiar with applicable regulatory requirements outlined by OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC and other state/local

organizations.

  • Machining and welding capabilities required
  • Computer literate, i.e., Microsoft-Office applications
  • Must be proficient in analytical problem-solving techniques and possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and must be able to work with minimal supervision
