Maintenance Technician - Rochester Hills, Michigan
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering a starting rate of approximately $25.00 per hour, depending on your verified professional background. We are hiring for the 3rd shift, which runs from 11:00pm to 7:00am, though initial training will take place during the 1st shift.
Role Overview
You will support the maintenance and repair of all facility equipment and presses, ensuring strict adherence to our established Preventative Maintenance Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Perform necessary equipment fabrication and repairs.
- Diagnose issues, conduct fixes, and propose upgrades or enhancements to improve performance.
- Manage parts procurement and coordinate with external service providers when specialized assistance is required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities within the M4 system to ensure operational transparency.
- Help minimize equipment downtime to ensure consistent production flow.
- Carry out essential building maintenance tasks.
- Strictly follow all safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out procedures, to protect yourself and your colleagues.
- Ensure the workspace remains tidy and hazard-free to promote a safe environment for everyone.
- Collaborate with and receive guidance from the molding manager or their designated lead.
- Exercise the authority to halt production processes if you identify nonconforming or suspicious materials.
- Complete additional projects and related tasks as requested.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent credential.
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting.
Skills and Physical Requirements
- Proven capability in general machine and facility upkeep.
- Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and resolving equipment failures.
- Certified or capable of operating a forklift.
- Proficient in the operation of overhead cranes.
- Strong attention to detail in recordkeeping.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities efficiently.
- Commitment to working effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications including Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Maintain a professional and ethical standard, especially when managing sensitive information.
- Physical ability to walk, sit, stand, climb, reach, balance, stoop, and lift up to 55 pounds.
- Visual acuity including depth perception, color vision, and focus, while working in a moderate noise environment.
