Qualifications

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Shift Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, hours may vary depending on operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely troubleshoot, change, install, and commission all components of instrument control and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair components such as motors, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, switch gears, lighting, relays, Programmable Logic Controllers (preferably Allen Bradley), overhead crane controls, wiring, conduit, instrumentation, control valves, DCS Systems, controllers, HMIs, UPS Systems, and similar equipment.
  • Handle highly technical projects, make decisions based on analysis and findings.
  • Utilize welding equipment (arc, acetylene, brazing, flame cutting) for layout and fitting, including jig and fixture creation.
  • Use electricians' hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct electrical system issues, applying load requirement calculations.
  • Perform visual and mechanical inspections to maintain machinery and ensure product quality.
  • Follow preventive maintenance programs and conduct inspections.
  • Perform repairs on buildings and notify management of major repairs needed.
  • Provide on-the-job guidance to new mechanics and team members.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, execute repair procedures, and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Enter repair history, close work orders, and update procedures as needed.
  • Perform additional projects or duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant maintenance or related experience.
  • Preferred experience as an Electrical Controls Technician in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, problem analysis, and conflict management skills, especially under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Power Distribution Systems, Medium Voltage troubleshooting (480 VAC, 750VDC), electrical testing, NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA standards, transformer maintenance, motor controls (including DC and servo motors), hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, communication protocols, analog circuits, UPS, MCCs, electrical area classification, and reading electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours depending on work orders and season.
