Job summary

Maple Knoll Village in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep the senior living community safe and comfortable. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry systems, service kitchen equipment, and respond to work orders with accuracy.

We value a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and 2+ years of journey-level experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent with 2+ years as journey-level worker in installing, maintaining, repairing building systems.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, HVAC and electrical installation and repair and ability to relay technical information.
  • Team player with a passion to serve the elderly.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain community buildings and grounds in good condition year-round.
  • Complete work orders with corrective and preventive maintenance; document resolutions and close orders.
  • Perform skilled work across mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and related facility systems.
  • Inspect boilers, HVAC equipment, plumbing, generators, pumps and motors; troubleshoot and repair.
  • Service kitchen equipment including refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers.
  • Repair and install doors, locks, security devices and related hardware; perform carpentry tasks.
  • Inspect and maintain electronic information, communication and control systems; ensure sensors and controllers function properly.
  • Perform renovation and turnover maintenance to meet resident selections and schedules.
  • Adhere to safety practices and keep worksites secure.
  • Full-time Day shift 8:00a-4:00p; every 5th weekend on call; some holidays required.

In This Role You Will:
  • Performs functions to maintain the community's buildings and grounds in good condition throughout the year.
  • Completes work order requistions as assigned by performing corrective and preventive maintenance duties. Documents resolutions accurately and closes work order promptly upon completion.
  • Performs skilled worked related to their specific field or trade and persons semi-skilled technical duties such as the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, electronics, carpentry, security, and related facility systems and components.
  • Inspects boilers, HVAC equipment, plumbing, generators, pumps, motors, and similar mechanical/electrical equipment on a regular basis; troubleshoots problems and repairs as needed.
  • Services a variety of kitchen equipment to include refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, etc.
  • Repairs and installs doors and door hardware; changes and keys locks; installs security devices, alarm systems, pneumatic door closures, and related hardware; performs semi-skilled rough and finish carpentry work.
  • Inspects and maintains electronic information, communication and control systems; ensures that sensors, controllers, and transmitters are in proper working condition.
  • Performs contractor-level work in their area of expertise.
  • Performs renovation and turnover maintenance; to ensure units are completed on schedule and in accordance with the resident's selections.
  • Cleans and maintains work and storage areas. Repairs, cleans, lubricates, and stores equipment, tools, and fixtures.
  • Participates in inventory and supply distribution processes as assigned.
  • Performs all work in a safe manner and uses safety equipment as required; secures worksites from safety hazards as necessary.
  • Preforms all other duties as assigned.
  • Fulltime Day shift 8:00a-4:00p; every 5th weekend on call rotation; and some holidays are required.
Who You Are:
  • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and/or a minimum of two (2) years as a journey-level worker with experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of building operating systems and facilities; OR an equivalent combination of education, formal training, and experience, including a license or mastery of trade, ex. HVAC, Electrical
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be knowledgeable of principles, methods, and materials used in a variety of mechanical, HVAC and electrical installation, maintenance and repair work and have the ability to relay technical information effectively.
