Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for the VCU Health campus on the 2nd shift (3:30pm to 12am, Mon–Fri).

The role involves troubleshooting equipment, maintaining building systems, and coordinating with vendors to ensure reliable operations. A valid driver’s license and 3–5 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow up on maintenance tasks.
• Driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems.
• Experience with computerized work order systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting equipment, replacing fixtures, rodding drains, identifying and stopping leaks.
• Supervising and adjusting building automation systems for comfort.
• Generator testing, light fixture replacement, ceiling tile replacement, general building issues response.
• Using drawings and manuals for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Coordinating with vendors and contractors.
• Performing preventative maintenance on emergency power, lighting, HVAC, and other systems.
• Conducting building and mechanical room inspections.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of maintenance duties. This is a 2nd Shift 3:30pm to 12am M-F schedule.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting equipment sets, replacing plumbing fixtures, rodding drains and pipes, identifying and stopping leaks, rebuilding flush valves.
• Supervising and making adjustments to the building automation system for patient/staff comfort.
• Generator testing and inspections, replacing light fixtures and light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles and responding to general building issues.
• Using drawings, wiring diagrams, operations & maintenance manuals for troubleshooting, diagnosing and making repairs.
• Coordinating specialized work with vendors and contractors.
• Performing preventative maintenance tasks on the emergency power system, emergency lighting, ice machines and refrigerators, HVAC equipment and other building systems as assigned.
• Conduct building and mechanical room inspections in accordance with maintenance program.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related experience as a maintenance worker/technician preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow up on maintenance tasks.
• Driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems.
• Experience With Computerized Work Order Systems Preferred.
