Job summary

Viant Medical Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician in Elkhorn, WI, to troubleshoot, repair and maintain hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems on production equipment.

You will support injection molding presses, automation, and related facilities in a regulated medical-device environment. The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, preventive maintenance, meticulous documentation, and the ability to work from complex drawings with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills.
• Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions with limited information.
• Proficiency in welding, electronics, air compressors, machine shop, hydraulics, and electrical maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, and auxiliary equipment.
• Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul machine components.
• Service robotics, hoists, power and material handling equipment.
• Maintain plant systems including HVAC and compressors.
• Perform electrical repairs and troubleshoot microprocessors.
• Work from drawings and layouts to carry out tasks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance with precision measuring tools.
• Take on additional projects as assigned.

About the role:

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. You will perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and support the operation of core equipment, including injection molding presses, automation and assembly work cells, material handling systems, and chiller systems, to ensure safe and efficient production.

Job Responsibilities:

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, auxiliary equipment, grinders, dryers, etc.
• Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul complete machines troublesome machine components.
• Service and maintain robotics, hoists, power and miscellaneous material handling equipment.
• Maintain and repair plant systems to include plumbing, heating and air conditioning, ventilating and exhaust equipment, compressors, etc.
• Perform electrical repairs to machines and equipment. Diagnose electrical / electronic malfunctions, troubleshoot microprocessors.
• Work from complicated drawings, plans, sketches and layouts.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities on all production equipment in a timely manner. Use precision measuring instruments such as scale, calipers, dividers, level, micrometers, etc.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment.
• The ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions where limited information exists
• Proficient in the following trades: Welding, electronics, air compressor, machine shop, hydraulics, and electrical maintenance very desirable.
• Must be able to understand and carry out instructions given in written, verbal or diagram form.
• The ability to effectively prioritize activities and conduct duties with minimal supervision is important.

Compensation:

We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is up to $35.00 per hour based on experience! Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
