Job summary

Emerson is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our Olive Branch, MS facility. The role covers upkeep of building infrastructure, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, conveyors, and powered equipment.

You will perform routine inspections, assist with maintenance tasks, and coordinate with Property Management on groundskeeping and repairs. The position runs Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM with shift pay listed at $1.48 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in manufacturing/distribution or similar industry.
  • Stand, bend, lift and push up to 50 lbs for shift.
  • Able to pass industrial power equipment certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine daily inspection and maintenance of building and systems.
  • Assists with maintenance repair and construction tasks in building upkeep.
  • Assists with installation, maintenance, forklift PMs, repair, and basic building trades such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Inspects properties and coordinates with Property Management for groundskeeping and maintenance.
  • Prepares and paints woodwork, refinish, and handles carpet installation or repair.
  • Provides technical assistance on machinery, conveyors, and facilities performance.
  • Maintains tools and equipment owned by Appleton Group.
  • Assists with repairs on leased forklifts and related batteries with Vendors.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures.
  • Collects data and helps develop solutions to problems.

Are you a skilled Maintenance Technician looking to grow your career? Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you at our Olive Branch, MS facility!

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the daily operations of the facility. This position involves the maintenance, repair, and replacement of various components within the Appleton Group’s physical distribution center servicing building infrastructure and mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing and HVAC, pneumatic systems, conveyors, powered equipment and machinery.

Mon through Fri (2pm to 10:30pm)
Shift pay = $1.48 per hour
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Performs routine, repetitive daily inspection and maintenance vital to building exterior/interior.
  • Assist and performs semi-skilled tasks of a general nature in connection with maintenance repair and construction tasks in the upkeep of Appleton Group.
  • Assist with and performs installation, maintenance, forklift PMs, repair, and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, locksmithing, carpeting, pneumatic, mechanics, and electrical work.
  • Inspects properties and communicates with Property Management Group regarding proper groundskeeping and general cleanup and maintenance.
  • Prepares and paints and woodwork and performs other types of refinish; installs or repairs carpet, performs custodial duties as required.
  • Provides technical assistance regarding the quality and performance of machinery, conveyors, building and other facilities.
  • Prioritizes and it maintains all tools, equipment, materials, owned by Appleton Group.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all Appleton group owned for repairs on leased forklifts, batteries, and the like with various Vendors.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Collect data, establish facts, and develop solutions to problem solve

For this Role, You Will Need:
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience in manufacturing distribution or similar industry
  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, push and pull for shift all product/carton weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to pass and maintain industrial power equipment certifications.
  • Ability to perform basic carpentry, flooring, painting, exterior building work and minor plumbing.
  • Good command of English, both written and oral communication.
  • Basic tool / equipment maintenance experience
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule which may including weekend assignments.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and results driven individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Technical literacy, smartphones, computers (Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • High School diploma
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in repair and troubleshooting of mechanical pneumatic hydraulic and basic electrical control systems.
  • Certification or License from an Accredited Technical College
