The Maintenance Technician position is an entry/mid-level position into the Technical Systems department and encompasses a wide array of skilled disciplines. It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Technician to work side by side with other Specialists and Technicians, performing routine maintenance, projects, emergency repairs and troubleshooting. The incumbent works closely with managers, co-workers and independently with little or no supervision. Equipment responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to, automation systems, stacker cranes, print room systems, tilt-tray sorter, stretch wrappers, conveyor systems and miscellaneous other equipment.
Teamwork, cooperation and flexibility, along with LEAN principles of problem solving and elimination of waste are expectations of the position. Additionally, every employee is responsible for their personal safety, as well as the safety of their peers. Adherence of established safety policies and procedures, along with the reporting of all injuries and unsafe conditions are also requirements of this position. Business needs of the department may require additions or changes to the duties of this position.
