Job summary

Sensient Technologies is seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician to grow technical expertise in a demanding facility. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair processing equipment, including PLCs, pneumatics, steam, water, and ammonia systems.

The role requires reading blueprints and manuals, following safety guidelines, and actively participating in safety programs. Candidates with 4+ years in manufacturing and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications are a plus.
• 4+ years progressive experience in manufacturing and/or maintenance; dairy/food processing beneficial.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings; troubleshoot and repair with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment to maximize uptime.
• Manage maintenance of processing equipment, control systems, PLCs, pneumatics, steam, water, and ammonia systems.
• Read blueprints and manuals to troubleshoot problems, order parts, and repair equipment.
• Follow safety, quality, and environmental guidelines and maintain documentation.
• Operate and maintain plant utilities.
• Weld using various equipment for sanitary product lines.
• Participate in emergency response teams and safety programs.
• Keep tools and workspace clean and organized.

We are looking for a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician that is looking to grow their technical expertise in a facility where they will face new challenges daily!

What you’ll do:

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment to maximize uptime and eliminate downtime.
• Use or develop knowledge to manage all maintenance of processing equipment, control systems, PLCs, pneumatics, steam, water and ammonia system.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, equipment manuals, and trade instructions in order to troubleshoot problems, offer solutions, order parts, and repair equipment.
• Follow safety, quality, and environmental guidelines while maintaining all necessary documentation.
• Operate and maintain all plant utilities
• Weld using various types of equipment, welds, and materials for sanitary product lines.
• Actively participate in emergency response teams, training, and programs to improve safety.
• Clean, organize and maintain tools, workspaces, and equipment.
• Assume other duties as needed or as assigned by the supervisor or lead person.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong mechanical aptitudeor understanding of industrial controls to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Willingness to learn processes, equipment, and skills required for job tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings and work with minimal supervision.
• Computer literacy with ability to initiate, track, or execute work orders electronically.
• Ability to climb stairs and work intermittently in hot and/or dusty environments.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Additional degree or certification(s) related to maintenance and manufacturing are beneficial.
• 4+ years progressive experience in manufacturing and/or maintenance. Experience in Food, chemical and/or dairy processing beneficial.
• Must have valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
