Job summary

Steel Technologies is seeking a Maintenance Technician to improve safety, quality, and efficiency by performing preventative, routine and emergency mechanical and electrical maintenance and providing effective troubleshooting. You will help ensure operations run smoothly and equipment is well-maintained.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to perform preventative, routine and emergency maintenance on plant machinery.
• Sound knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repair techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.

Job description

As a Maintenance Technician at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to continue to improve our safety, quality and efficiency. How? By performing preventative, routine and emergency mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and providing effective troubleshooting, you are a huge part in ensuring operations is always running effectively.

How you'll contribute to our company:

Preventative Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance to all plant machinery
• Carry out the preventative maintenance program for the plant
• Ability to accept and control maintenance operations and communicate non-compliance problems to supervisor for instruction
• Identify and address safety concerns throughout the facility
• Maintain general housekeeping and organization of maintenance department and all equipment repair work areas

Minimize Downtime

• Continuously review the operation of plant equipment and systems
• Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner
• Identify opportunities for improvement

Effective Troubleshooting

• Must have knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs through a quick and effective root cause analogy
• Ability to accurately fill out documentation on work orders
• Ability to perform emergency maintenance repairs to all plant machinery
• Knowledge of motor control systems, hydraulic systems, fire protection and mechanical bearing systems
• Knowledge of equipment installation
• Ability to interpret blueprints to properly fabricate parts and equipment
