Summary

Supports operations by installing, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment. Works as part of a team to minimize machine downtime through corrective and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

1. Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing and facility-related equipment, including access control systems, fire alarm systems, and gas generator systems.
2. Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on various equipment types.
3. Safely troubleshoot and perform basic electrical repairs.
4. Operate and maintain machine shop tools, measuring, and diagnostic equipment.
5. Document repairs and maintenance activities.
6. Fabricate, rebuild, design, and install machine parts.
7. Mechanical installation and troubleshooting of oil lubrication, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including piping.
8. Maintain compressed air and drying equipment.
9. Install and troubleshoot electrical motors and controls.
10. Maintain and repair hydraulic systems.
11. Construct electrical control panels from schematics.
12. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, increase productivity, and eliminate waste.
13. Determine whether to make or buy repair parts and work with vendors to source components.
14. Install, design, troubleshoot, and set parameters for variable drive systems.
15. Install and troubleshoot PLC programs.
16. Research and implement new technologies to solve manufacturing problems.
17. Train employees in repairing manufacturing equipment and electrical controls.
18. Collaborate with engineering to design and install specialized equipment.
19. Install and troubleshoot burners and temperature controllers.
20. Work flexibly across all required hours with minimal notice.
21. Follow safe work practices and procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• 2-year technical degree or 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools.
• Ability to design and upgrade equipment/processes.
• Safe operation of shop equipment, including welding, brake, shears, mills, drill press, lathes, and grinders.
• Knowledge of blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of welding and cutting techniques.
• Understanding of plant piping layout (gas, air, water).
• Ability to rebuild equipment with minimal supervision.
• Fork truck certification.
• Knowledge of electrical panel components and circuit diagnosis.
