Job summary

Hörmann LLC in Sparta, TN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep the facility and production equipment in top condition. This full-time role offers a 4-day work week and a pay range of $24–$28 per hour with shift differential.

You will service mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, read blueprints, perform preventive maintenance and repairs, and support machine upgrades while maintaining a safe, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent with industrial maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Experience reading blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• PLC ladder logic knowledge and basic programming is a plus.
• Able to work 4 PM–2:30 AM shift and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
• Service and maintain equipment including motors, hydraulic and transmission systems.
• Maintain facility wiring, painting, and general repairs.
• Inspect functionality of production machines and troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks.
• Communicate with the production team and keep a clean work area.
• Adhere to procedures and safety policies.

Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping both the physical facility as well as the production equipment in good working order.

A qualified candidate must also be equipped with a good understanding of basic mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and be able to support internal and external resources in completing various maintenance projects.

The maintenance technician will perform mechanical work on various machines in our facility including but not limited to repairs, preventative maintenance, modifications, and basic electrical work. As well as general facilities maintenance such as painting, wiring, repairing building structures, and other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will be a reliable, self-motivated, results-oriented individual who possesses and utilizes their strong organizational, technical and mechanical skills to motivate those around him/her through exemplary leadership.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

• Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
• Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, hydraulic systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
• Servicing and maintaining the facility including wiring, painting, landscaping, and general repairs.
• Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines.
• Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
• Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
• Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
• Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks.
• Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area.
• Conduct activities by adhering to established procedures and approved processes.
• Capacity to develop knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment and be able to apply this knowledge to the completion of work as assigned.
• Must promote a safe work environment and uphold all safety policies.
• Carry out all job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent with at least five years of industrial manufacturing experience.
• Or completed documented formal training resulting in the candidate having obtained a certificate or degree in a related industrial or facilities maintenance field.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems maintenance.
• Experience working with 480V power systems.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any recent updates.
• Understanding of: motor controls, AC and DC circuits, PLC ladder logic, and basic programming of PLCs
• Ability to bend, install and thread conduit sizes ½” – 4”.
• Read blueprints and schematics.
• Intermediate experience with operating lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
• Basic computer and report writing skills.
• Occasional overtime may be required based on production and maintenance needs.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Essential Physical Functions:

• Be able to safely lift or move at least 50lbs.
• Be able to safely climb stairs or a ladder.
• Be able to work at heights exceeding 10ft. above grade.

Tools and equipment along with specialized training if needed will be provided as required.
