Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and systems to ensure reliable operation and production goals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, safety checks, and inspections to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions by observing operation, conducting tests, and analyzing performance data.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery; replace defective parts as needed.
  • Install and calibrate new production equipment, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
  • Upkeep HVAC, plumbing, and building facilities to guarantee functionality.
  • Maintain maintenance records and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Identify wastes and drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes.
  • Communicate activities to department leaders and minimize interruption.

Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for installation, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of industrial machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations on site at Scott City, Missouri. This role is critical in supporting production through preventative maintenance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring equipment is calibrated and functioning to specification. The key metrics of success are summarized by SQDEP+. Safety, Quality, Delivery, Equipment, and Productivity. The (+) represents non-tangible and/or environmental attributes that are difficult to measure such as employee engagement, organization wide culture, and other similar impactful elements of a healthy work culture. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems, strong problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. The Maintenance Technician may oversee improvement or repair initiatives both in collaboration with other business leaders, or independently as the sole advocate.

Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in maintenance, facilities, or related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing production environment is preferred.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking 8-10 hours depending on the task.

  • The use of approved Safety Glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toed boots are required. Gloves and other PPE may be required depending on certain tasks assigned.
