Job summary

Gabriel Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure manufacturing machinery and infrastructure are operational. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and help implement new systems while ensuring safety and efficiency.

The role requires reading blueprints, basic electrical/mechanical knowledge, and the ability to train staff and supervise contractors. A strong focus on cost reduction and reliability is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Vocational Training is preferred.
  • Certifications in safety and equipment operation are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and systems.
  • Assist with new equipment installation and technology adoption.
  • Monitor work performed by outside contractors.
  • Perform light landscaping and groundskeeping as needed.
  • Train employees on equipment usage and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain inventories of parts, consumables, and tools.
  • Provide maintenance information and respond to maintenance requests.
  • Use CMMS to track work orders and preventive schedules.
  • Keep maintenance areas clean and organized.
  • Follow Lock Out/Tag Out and ISO 9001:2015 procedures.

Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to ensure all manufacturing machinery, equipment, and building infrastructures are operational and in good working condition by performing various maintenance tasks.

Primary Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment:
    • Responsible for any maintenance-related issues.
    • Tasks include assembling/disassembling equipment, minor electrical repairs, HVAC, plumbing, quality/process improvement, relocating equipment, and setting up equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks:
    • Regularly scheduled maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment to prevent breakdowns.
  • Ensure correct and safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment:
    • Monitor and verify that all equipment is operating safely and correctly.
  • Assist with the implementation of new equipment and technologies:
    • Help introduce new equipment, technologies, and practices to improve infrastructure reliability and sustainability.
    • Aim to reduce operational costs.
  • Monitor work performed by outside contractors:
    • Assist in overseeing and ensuring the quality of work done by external contractors.
  • Perform light landscaping and groundskeeping work:
    • Carry out minor landscaping and groundskeeping tasks as needed.
  • Train employees on equipment usage and troubleshooting:
    • Provide training to employees on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Maintain inventories of parts, consumables, and tools:
    • Check stock levels and notify management to place orders for low stock items.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information:
    • Answer questions and fulfill requests related to mechanical maintenance.
  • Utilize the CMMS System:
    • Monitor work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
    • Resolve issues within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization:
    • Keep the Maintenance Shop, Parts Room, and Maintenance Breakroom clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Follow the Decontamination Program:
    • Properly deenergize and isolate electrical systems in accordance with the Lock Out/Tag Out Program.
    • Disassemble/assemble equipment when necessary.
    • Initiate and close the Safe Work Permit.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment:
    • Comply with procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Follow ISO 9001:2015 Policies and Procedures:
    • Adhere to maintenance-related ISO 9001:2015 standards.
    • Ensure all associated documentation is correctly filled out.
