Job summary

CBRE in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain small to medium buildings and industrial systems while supporting a technology client. This is a second-shift role, Monday through Friday from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with a valid driver’s license required.

You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and support energy management, review work orders, and ensure safety and code compliance across sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience (or equivalent).
• Driver license required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and meet physical requirements.
• Proficient in basic work routines and standards.
• Strong communication to exchange straightforward information.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do

• Stay organized and manage your time effectively while prioritizing maintenance activities across multiple sites.
• Demonstrate reliability and accountability by completing tasks safely, accurately, and on schedule.
• Investigate root causes, identify improvement opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
• Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
• Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
• Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Driver License Require
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

The minimum salary for the Maintenance Technician position is $24.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the Maintenance Technician position is $27.00 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
