Job summary

Wayne Farms LLC in Palestine, TX is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for Monday–Friday 3:00pm–11:30pm with rotating weekends. The role includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems. On-the-job training is provided; benefits begin day one. Strong mechanical skills and safety focus are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; vocational certificate preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and repair of machinery.
• Ability to read schematics/blueprints to diagnose problems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Multilingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
• Identify root causes of breakdowns and repair to reduce downtime.
• Record and report damaged parts; order and install replacements.
• Prepare reports documenting work performed.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance.
• Wear PPE and maintain a safe, organized shop area.
• Assist with tests and modifications as required.

SHIFT DETAILS:Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm(Rotating Weekends)Pay Rate-$27.35Benefits available Day OneOn the job trainingPRIMARY FUNCTION: The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative, maintenance, and repairs of large manufacturing equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, etc.).RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts machinery as necessary to ensure machines are in optimal working conditionIdentify root cause of unexpected breakdowns of machines; repair quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime for machineRecord and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, ordering and installing replacement parts for machines as neededPrepare reports documenting work performed.Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies as neededCoordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.Collaborate with department heads regarding new products being added and modifications that will be requiredMake necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as requiredIdentify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementationWear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culturePerform additional relevant duties as assignedSUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:None.
