Job description

Shift: Monday-Friday (2p-10:30p)

The Maintenance Technician conducts, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. The position applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment to operation. The electronics technician provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support across manufacturing areas.

Maintenance Technician Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment.
2. Plans and performs work requiring thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories, principles, specifications, local and electrical codes, material properties, and electronic equipment operation and application.
3. Installs, starts up, and shuts down equipment following safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
4. Advises operators and line mechanics on operational procedures and safety requirements for electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment.
5. Informs management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical issues and dangers.
6. Maintains performance and maintenance records for equipment.
7. Performs preventive maintenance as directed.
8. Assists maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and trains other employees as needed.

Requirements:

• Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship or equivalent in a technical field.
• Three to five years of proven experience in electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields.
• HP Maintenance Certificate, preferably series 2 and 3 presses.
• Electrician's License.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

• Regular talking and hearing required.
• Active work involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
• Frequent lifting and moving of items over 50 pounds.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
