Qualifications

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay Range: $26.50 - $34.00 per hour

Shift Hours: 4:00 pm - 12:30 am, hours may vary depending on operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and follow all safety rules and precautions necessary for working with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical apparatus.
  • Deal with complex factors and make decisions based on conclusions and findings.
  • Install and repair various electrical equipment, including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems. Work with blueprints, drawings, layouts, verbal instructions, and other specifications.
  • Use different welding equipment (arc, acetylene, brazing, and flame cutting) for layout and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures.
  • Use electricians' hand tools and measuring/testing equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct trouble in the electrical system or equipment, applying standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Perform visual and mechanical inspections to maintain machinery in good condition, ensuring the production of finished quality products to order specifications.
  • Follow the preventive maintenance program established by the company and conduct equipment inspections, taking preventative action when necessary.
  • Perform minor and major repairs on buildings.
  • Notify management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • Provide on-the-job direction to new maintenance mechanics and others assisting in maintenance work.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in the work area.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.
  • Execute equipment repair procedures.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in work areas.
  • Enter equipment repair history and close out work orders.
  • Update repair procedures if needed.
  • May be assigned additional projects or duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience in a maintenance mechanic function, or equivalent related experience.
  • Preferred experience as an Electrical Controls Technician in an industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, strong troubleshooting skills, decision-making skills, problem analysis, and conflict management skills, particularly in pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, and applicable OSHA standards.
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.

This position may require overtime. Shifts are 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on work orders and season.
