Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
- Maintain mechanical equipment and machinery to minimize production downtime.
- Diagnose machinery issues and determine necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Assess repair severity and decide if immediate action or a work order is needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment during production, ensuring proper operation post-repair.
- Maintain a safe environment for production equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance per written procedures.
- Estimate repair times and scope.
- Collaborate with other shifts and departments to meet objectives.
- Respond promptly to urgent issues affecting production or safety.
- Complete projects and priorities on schedule.
- Ensure machinery operates safely and correctly, addressing unsafe conditions proactively.
- Support engineering, tool room, and other technical staff as needed.
- Accurately complete maintenance incident reports.
- Coordinate off-hour emergencies related to maintenance and security issues.
Additional Responsibilities
- Properly handle bloodborne pathogens according to training.
- Deliver and pick up parts or materials as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1-5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven troubleshooting and repair skills for pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to operate and repair air and electric hand tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Basic blueprint reading and understanding of tolerances.
- Basic plumbing, electrical, machining, and fabrication skills.
- Ability to weld steel and aluminum.
- Capability to fabricate components from instructions.
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial machinery at various levels.
- Calibrate CNC trimming equipment.
Licenses and Certifications
- Forklift driver certification (training provided by Hampel).
- Bloodborne pathogen certification.
