Job summary

Viant Medical Inc. seeks an Engineering Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems on production equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and support core equipment including presses, automation, and material handling systems to ensure safe, efficient production. The role involves working second shift (3:30pm-12am) with occasional overtime and requires strong mechanical and electrical repair

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment.
• Proficient in welding, electronics, air compressors, machine shop, hydraulics and electrical maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, auxiliary equipment, grinders, dryers.
• Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul machine components.
• Service and maintain robotics, hoists, power and material handling equipment.
• Maintain plant systems including plumbing, HVAC, ventilation and exhaust equipment.
• Perform electrical repairs to machines; diagnose electrical/electronic malfunctions.
• Work from complex drawings, plans, sketches and layouts.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on all production equipment with precision instruments.
• Handle other projects and tasks as assigned.

Hours: Monday – Friday / 2 nd shift (3:30pm-12am) / Occasional OT

About the role:

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. You will perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and support the operation of core equipment, including injection molding presses, automation and assembly work cells, material handling systems, and chiller systems, to ensure safe and efficient production.

What you’ll do:

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, auxiliary equipment, grinders, dryers, etc.
• Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul complete machines troublesome machine components.
• Service and maintain robotics, hoists, power and miscellaneous material handling equipment.
• Maintain and repair plant systems to include plumbing, heating and air conditioning, ventilating and exhaust equipment, compressors, etc.
• Perform electrical repairs to machines and equipment. Diagnose electrical / electronic malfunctions, troubleshoot microprocessors.
• Work from complicated drawings, plans, sketches and layouts.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities on all production equipment in a timely manner. Use precision measuring instruments such as scale, calipers, dividers, level, micrometers, etc.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment.
• Proficient in the following trades: Welding, electronics, air compressor, machine shop, hydraulics, and electrical maintenance very desirable.
• Must be able to apply common sense, understand and carry out instructions given in written, verbal or diagram form.
• The ability to effectively prioritize activities and conduct duties with minimal supervision is important.
• The ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions where limited information exists
