Job summary

Viant Medical in Wisconsin is seeking an Engineering Technician to troubleshoot, repair and maintain hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems on production equipment including injection molding presses and automation cells.

You will perform preventive maintenance, interpret complex drawings, and support core equipment like material handling systems and chillers to ensure safe, efficient manufacturing operations on 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment.
• Proficient in welding, electronics, air compressors, machine shop, hydraulics, and electrical maintenance.
• Able to follow written or verbal instructions and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions with limited information.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, and related equipment.
• Dismantle and inspect parts; rebuild components as needed.
• Service robotics, hoists and material handling equipment.
• Maintain plant systems including HVAC, plumbing, and exhaust equipment.
• Perform electrical repairs and diagnose malfunctions on machines.
• Work from drawings and layouts; use precision measuring tools.
• Contribute to preventive maintenance on production equipment.

Hours: Monday - Friday / 2nd shift (3:30pm-12am) / Occasional OT

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. You will perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and support the operation of core equipment, including injection molding presses, automation and assembly work cells, material handling systems, and chiller systems, to ensure safe and efficient production.

What you'll do:

• Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, auxiliary equipment, grinders, dryers, etc.
• Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul complete machines troublesome machine components.
• Service and maintain robotics, hoists, power and miscellaneous material handling equipment.
• Maintain and repair plant systems to include plumbing, heating and air conditioning, ventilating and exhaust equipment, compressors, etc.
• Perform electrical repairs to machines and equipment. Diagnose electrical / electronic malfunctions, troubleshoot microprocessors.
• Work from complicated drawings, plans, sketches and layouts.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities on all production equipment in a timely manner. Use precision measuring instruments such as scale, calipers, dividers, level, micrometers, etc.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment.
• Proficient in the following trades: Welding, electronics, air compressor, machine shop, hydraulics, and electrical maintenance very desirable.
• Must be able to apply common sense, understand and carry out instructions given in written, verbal or diagram form.
• The ability to effectively prioritize activities and conduct duties with minimal supervision is important.
• The ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions where limited information exists
