Job summary

Van’s Kitchen in Dallas, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift to perform general maintenance and repair across the facility, learn production operations, and execute preventive maintenance work orders in support of GMP guidelines.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, fabricate repair parts, operate hand and power tools, follow Lockout/Tagout procedures, and maintain a safe, clean work environment. Compensation is $25.00–$27.00 per hour, full-time with benefits.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Knowledgeable with PLC controls and computer operated equipment.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Safely use and operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical multimeter.
• Weld and use cutting torch for metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and follow instructional handbooks and operational guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative maintenance on engines, motors, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Control production downtime by informing production workers of routine and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Fabricate repair parts as necessary.
• Provide mechanical maintenance information through requests and answering questions.
• Support facility maintenance as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with company safety procedures.
• Follow Lock out Tag out procedures daily.

Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00 / hour

Description

To perform general maintenance and repair duties throughout the facility. To learn and understand technical and production operations. To execute preventive maintenance work orders on facility-related items and develop and understand the overall maintenance scope. Assist other areas of the facility as needed. Know and adhere to all GMP guidelines.

Essential Job Duties

• Execute preventative maintenance on engines, motors, c onveyor systems, and production machines.
• Control production downtime by informing production workers of routine and preventative maintenance requirements.
• Fabricate repair parts, as necessary
• Provide mechanical maintenance information through requests and answering questions
• Support facility maintenance as assigned by supervisor
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with company safety procedures
• Follow Lock out Tag out procedures daily
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Maintenance Technician will keep the maintenance area clean of debris at all times.
• Cross train in other areas of the company for fill in or other assignments when needed.
• Answers two-way radio calls from assigned production department in timely manner in order to ensure production efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned by management

Physical Requirements

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all equipment of the workstation and other areas as needed. Frequent lifting, bending and twisting. Lifting up to 30 lbs. required to complete daily tasks.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for virtually entire shift.
• Occasionally required to balance or climb.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Frequently exposed to airborne particles
