Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods Distribution Center is seeking a skilled technician to maintain and repair facility equipment, including PLCs, conveyors, and hydraulic systems. You will follow PM standards, document work, and manage parts usage to support continuous operations.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree or technical cert, 3–5 years’ experience, and strong safety awareness. The role includes training teammates and collaborating with vendors to complete projects safely.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or a 2-year vocational/technical certificate or degree, preferably in a mechanical or electrical application.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Experience with welding, burning, cutting.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes, and PLC controls.
  • Familiarity with DC-specific specialized software packages (e.g., Crown PM, Gage).
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and building-type drawings/schematics.
  • Good safety awareness.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Experience with LOTO.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regard to LOTO and safe work practices.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility.
  • Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system.
  • Apply expertise in PLCs, conveyors, 3‑phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and related equipment.
  • Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to ensure inventory is maintained.
  • Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians to elevate their performance while troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Work closely with outside vendors to complete projects within the DCs safely and in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the DC and its operational needs.

Overview

Shift: Tuesday - Friday 5:30 p.m. – 3:30 a.m.

Rate: $29.55 per hour + $1 per hour shift differential.

Responsibilities

Pay Range

Targeted pay range: $29.55 – $42.90 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on location, experience, and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage.
