Job summary

Verus Aerospace is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform repair and preventive maintenance on a variety of machinery, tools, and equipment across all facilities. You will document repairs, train staff, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure safety and quality standards are upheld.

The role requires extensive hands-on repair experience, ability to work autonomously, strong attention to detail, and the capacity to respond quickly to urgent requests while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years hands-on repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems repair and maintenance.
  • Experience with mechanical alignment checks and adjustments.
  • Education or training in electronics and electrical systems desirable.
  • CNC machine repair experience; gantry mill repair a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Document repair work and write reports.
  • Train and lead others in the department when needed.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine fixes.
  • Assemble, install and repair wiring, electrical and plumbing components.

Job description

Maintenance technician is a customer support position, focusing on the needs of the organization. Repair and preventative maintenance of a variety of machinery, tools, equipment used in all of our facilities. Duties will also include but are not limited to … routine maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously for long periods of time. This position requires a high sense of urgency with a focus on safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Good communicationand computer skills, document repair work, write reports, create documents
  • Ability to work in & with diverse teams both internally & externally
  • Flexible to work various hours & schedules, pending business needs and urgency
  • Safety first mentality, highest of quality standards, self-starter and results driven
  • Positive mindset, proactive thinking, address issues & implement solutions quickly
  • Repair / replace defective equipment using hand tools, power tools, & assemble equipment
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance ensuring machines continue to run smoothly, operate efficiently, and the physical condition does not deteriorate
  • Diagnose mechanical & electrical problems … determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
  • Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
  • Train, and where needed lead others in department to ensure departmental objectives are met
  • And other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • 7+ years of hands on repair of electrical and mechanical systems on machinery
  • Experienced with hydraulic systems – repair and maintenance
  • Experienced with mechanical machine alignment checks and adjustments
  • Education / training in electronics and electrical systems desirable
  • CNC machine repair experience, gantry mill repair experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge

  • Familiar with Fanuc, Mazak, Siemens CNC controllers, PLC controllers, and servo systems.

Technical Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and mechanical metal cutting equipment
