Job summary

Healthy Kingsport is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd and 3rd shifts to perform installation, testing, and repair of complex mechanical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires experience with 480V 3-Phase, PLCs, reading schematics, and the ability to log and document work orders. You will contribute to safe, compliant maintenance and support upgrades as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or certificate in Electro-Mechanical or five years of industrial maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, testing, repair, and replacement of complex mechanical systems.
  • Provide production support as needed.
  • Review and inspect work for conformance to specifications.
  • Carry out emergency, planned, and preventative maintenance.

Job description

Maintenance Technician 2nd and 3rd shifts
  • Technical skill to perform assigned individual tasks; independent installation, testing, repair, and replacement of a wide range of complex mechanical systems.
  • Provide production support, as needed.
  • Review and inspect work performed for conformance to specifications.
  • Knowledge of 480v 3-Phase systems, 220v and 110v systems.
  • Experience in reading a variety of measuring devices, drawings and schematics.
  • Tool and equipment fabrication using shop facilities.
  • Familiar with PLC’s and able to log onto PLC controlled systems.
  • Carries out emergency, planned, and preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment and machinery as requested.
  • Ensure that all work is done according to standard practices, state electrical code, and local building codes.
  • Make recommendations and determine quantities and potential work time for proposed upgrades, installations, repairs, and projects and assist with proper costing and planning.
  • Liaisons with consultants, contractors, inspectors, suppliers, and other departments on maintenance and project work as required.
  • Accurately completes and documents work orders and time sheets prior to submission to supervisor.
  • Provide written reports on any inspections and/or tests and make recommendations to improve performance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe in working area.
  • Ensure duties are performed in a fiscally responsible manner while observing all safety, environmental, and quality policies and regulations.
  • Forklift as needed.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to independently perform skilled and professional mechanical work
  • Ability to work with interdisciplinary maintenance skills to complete projects
  • Participate in safety initiatives and other plant designated programs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience, Competencies, and Education
  • Associates degree or certificate in Electro-Mechanical or equivalent or Five (5) years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB: This

position requires that the employee be able to perform the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability and dexterity in use of various manual and powered hand tools.
  • Must be able to use various electrical test equipment such as ammeter, voltmeters, and ohm meter.
  • Work safely with high voltage power systems and with pole mounted, ceiling mounted, and moving equipment.
  • Occasional periods of high levels of physical exertion. This includes, but is not limited to, heavy lifting (up to 40 pounds), climbing, crouching, balancing, reaching, stooping, carrying, working in confined spaces, and above or below normal temperatures.
  • Ability to work on elevated platforms
