Job summary

International Paper in Newton, NC is seeking Maintenance A personnel for a fast-paced production environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components across various equipment.

The role includes operating metalworking tools and setting up machines while prioritizing safety and quality. Strong teamwork, problem solving, and willingness to cross-train are required.

Qualifications

• Commitment to quality and safety.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery.
• On-the-job success in safety, attendance, and quality of work.
• Maintenance experience in corrugated paper preferred; lubrication, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, electrical, and electronics technologies.
• Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to cross-train in other technical areas.
• Computer literacy for maintenance processes, stores, and work orders.
• Provide own tools (worn tools will be replaced).
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Willing and able to work third shift, call-ins, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Observe mechanical devices in operation, locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
• Inspect used parts for dimensional changes.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repair or replace defective parts; install functional parts.
• Lubricate and clean parts and machines.
• Start devices to test performance and operation.
• Set up and operate metalworking tools to make/repair parts.
• Move and position heavy equipment using forklifts or similar.
• Follow safety gear protocols and PPE usage.
