Job summary

Husco International in Whitewater, WI, is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 for a regular full-time role on a weekend shift (Friday to Monday, 10am–8pm). You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment, including CNC machines, and document repairs.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, using fabricating tools, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Competent in mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Valid driver’s license and forklift certification.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptability and teamwork.
• Intermediate PC knowledge.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/elevated platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document repairs to support production and facility equipment, ensuring safety and clear communication.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems including CNC machines and assembly line equipment.
• Operate fabrication tools such as lathes, mills, and drill presses for part repair or modification.
• Manage industrial waste in compliance with regulations.
• Read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Work independently while maintaining high quality and efficiency.
• Suggest improvements to equipment and processes to improve uptime, reliability, and safety.
• Assist engineering team on special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and Document Repairs: Conduct preventative maintenance, routine, and emergency repairs to support production and facility equipment, ensuring safety and effective communication with management and peers.
• Troubleshoot and Repair Systems: Work on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including CNC machines (Okuma MA600HB/Makino a61nx-a81nx), assembly line equipment, automated assembly/test equipment, and general facility infrastructure.
• Operate Fabrication Tools: Utilize tools such as lathes, mills, and drill presses for part repair and modification.
• Industrial Waste Management: Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous and universal waste in compliance with regulations.
• Technical Documentation: Read and interpret technical documents, including schematics and equipment manuals.
• Independent Work: Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency while working independently.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Suggest Improvements: Propose enhancements to equipment and manufacturing processes to improve uptime, reliability, and safety.
• Assist Engineering Team: Collaborate on special projects with the engineering team.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated competency in mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Valid driver’s license and forklift certification.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptability and teamwork.
• Intermediate PC knowledge.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform work on ladders and elevated platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1–3 years (or more) of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with CNC machines, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and vision systems.
• Familiarity with special-purpose machinery and automated systems.
• Proficiency and knowledge of codes and regulations (OSHA, Arc Flash, LOTO, etc.).
