Hoffer Plastics is hiring for Maintenance Technician, 1st shift.

Play a key role in producing plastic components that make everyday life possible, from transportation to food packaging to healthcare.

The Maintenance Technician ensures operation of machinery by repairing and completing preventive maintenance requirements on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

Starting Pay: $26.25 - $32.75

1st Shift Hours: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

Responsibilities:

• Control downtime by troubleshooting and diagnosing problems quickly and accurately.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking levels, anticipating needs, and placing orders.
• Maintain technical knowledge through educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
• Repair chillers, thermolators, resin driers, loader systems, grinders, and tower fans.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Observe safety rules and wear prescribed protective clothing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere, grow job-specific knowledge, and comply with safety regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
• Stand and walk constantly during shift.
• Lift up to 55 pounds.
• Bend, stoop, twist, balance, kneel, and crouch as needed.
• Push and pull items.
• Work atop and traverse molding machines, equipment, ladders, and lifts.
• Occasionally work in small cramped spaces.
• Wear appropriate PPE, including fire-retardant apparel.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience (10+ years) repairing Krauss Maffei and Demag injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment.
• Ability to work independently with strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and decision-making abilities.
• Strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical applications, and blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and diagrams.
• Welding skills required; machining skills a plus.
• Team player capable of interacting with various departments to ensure efficient work completion.
