Prattwhitney is looking for a Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift in Coralville. Responsibilities include performing maintenance and repairs on systems and production equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Shift: 1st Shift

Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship required; active L clearance; ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government issued security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform project work, unplanned repairs, and preventive maintenance on facility systems and production equipment.
• Schedule maintenance on electrical/mechanical equipment to maximize machine uptime.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with Engineers to improve equipment/process performance.
• Maintain HVAC, chilled water, compressed gases, and security/safety systems.
• Work within facility safety guidelines and maintain records paperwork.
• Set priorities under general direction, handle heavy parts/materials.
• Support multiple customers with strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; if lacking, 2+ years relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
• Physical requirements: lift/carry up to 50 lbs, basic hand tools, forklift certification.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to work with electrical systems up to 480V.
• Reading technical manuals, drawings, schematics.
• Preferred: Technical/vocational training.
