Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to service a variety of machines, equipment and forklifts in our Detroit Lakes plant. The 1st shift runs 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, with hours varying by operations, and a strong teamwork orientation is essential.

You will perform routine maintenance, manage inventories and parts, troubleshoot issues with operators, and support safety and project initiatives across the site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; additional education preferred.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality.
• Familiar with managing inventory and assets without a formal computer system.
• Some knowledge of electrical and PLC systems is helpful.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Capability to read schematics with remote support.
• Project planning ability.
• Some welding knowledge is helpful.
• Able to stand for 80% of the day.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds regularly.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain assets and maintenance records.
• Maintain forklifts and inventory of repair parts and lubricants.
• Inform maintenance managers of critical breakdowns and document work orders.
• Follow safety lockout/tagout procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns with operators.
• Coordinate with vendors and support programs for large projects.
• Assist with plant construction projects as needed.
• Travel may be required.
