Job summary

Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc. in Topeka, KS is seeking a Maintenance Technician 1st Shift to perform preventive and urgent maintenance of production machinery and equipment in a processed and refrigerated foods plant.

This full-time, on-site role offers a sign-on bonus up to $3,000, requires 1–3 years of multi-craft technician experience, and emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement while collaborating with the production team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience as a multi-craft industrial technician.
• Basic understanding of steam generation and supply systems.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems maintenance.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment per SWI and GMP.
• Support production as the mechanical expert.
• Ensure production and support equipment function properly.
• Perform reliability-based asset care and complete corrective work orders.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions; complete reactive work orders.
• Make repairs or adjustments to equipment, structures, and facilities.
• Perform basic electrical duties (replace motors, switches, PE, etc.).
• Dismantle/assemble machines to support sanitation or production needs.
• Perform package changeovers on lines as required.
• Train production team on mechanical processes.
• Focus on continuous improvement and waste elimination.
• Operate within a CMMS system recording work performed and needed.
• Maintain control of MRO inventory.
• Perform other duties including facilities tasks and special projects.
