Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a skilled Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will troubleshoot and repair production equipment and systems (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, plumbing, welding, refrigeration) and perform routine maintenance to keep the plant running smoothly.

The job requires good mechanical skills, the ability to read and follow written instructions, and a strong attendance record.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical skills including but not limited to repair of gearboxes, bearings, etc.
• Ability to read and write and comprehend written instructions.
• Excellent attendance and reliability.
• Knowledge of AC/DC controls.
• Experience in industrial equipment maintenance.
• Ability to perform maintenance tasks and learn Training programs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• PM Equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair of production equipment & systems (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, plumbing, welding, refrigeration)
• Maintain all plant equipment
• Mechanical ability to perform other assigned duties.
• The above responsibilities are not all-inclusive and are subject to further addition or modification.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** :**

Good mechanical skills including but not limited to repair of gearboxes, bearings, etc. Ability to read and write and comprehend written instructions. Excellent attendance Knowledge of AC/DC controls. Ability to continue to gain skills. Ability to maintain plant drains and pipes Satisfactory work record Experience in industrial equipment maintenance Ability to perform all tasks as assigned. Candidates must be willing and able to complete maintenance level 4 training in accordance with the MTP program.
