Job summary

Opella is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliability of packaging equipment in a cGMP environment. You will handle preventive and corrective maintenance, support changeovers, and assist with continuous improvement projects on a 1st shift schedule (4:00am–2:30pm).

In this role you will maintain equipment performance, document necessary repairs, and collaborate with packaging and engineering teams to keep lines running smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with automated controls or electromechanical manufacturing equipment.
• Willingness to comply with dress code and complete required training; work around product, dust, grease, and moving machinery hazards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of packaging equipment.
• Assist packaging personnel with changeover and operation of packaging equipment.
• Support engineering in projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Set up and adjust equipment for different product sizes per packaging line setup sheets.

About The Job

Your job as a Maintenance Technician for Opella Consumer Healthcare will be responsible for the maintenance and reliability of packaging in compliance with cGMP’s and Standard Operating Procedures, including facilitation of equipment changeover activities.

This is a 1st Shift position. Monday - Thursday. Hours are: 4:00am - 2:30pm

Main Responsibilities

• Preventive and corrective maintenance of packaging equipment
• Assist packaging personnel in the changeover and operation of packaging equipment
• Assist Engineering in the implementation of projects and continuous improvement objectives
• Facilitate the setup and adjustment of equipment for different product sizes according to packaging line set up sheets.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities and provide input into improvements or additions to PM routines
• Observing equipment in operation to diagnose source of problems affecting line performance and implementing corrective action
• Dismantle or partially dismantle equipment and perform repairs, replacing broken or defective parts and return equipment to operation.
• Prepare written specifications for major repair parts acquired through established vendors or from various machine shops
• Recommend improvements for equipment operation and changeover
• Work with packaging operations in to achieve maximum operating efficiency
• Maintain clean work areas as required by FDA-cGMP’s
• Other duties will be assigned as required

About You

• Education: You must have a High School Diploma or completed GED.
• Experience: Four (4) years' experience working with automated controls and/or electromechanical manufacturing equipment.
• Special Requirements: You are required to comply with dress code regulations, be willing to undergo necessary training, and work in conditions with exposure to product, dust, grease, and packing machinery hazards.
