Job summary

Opella Consumer Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Chattanooga, TN to maintain packaging equipment and support changeover activities in a cGMP environment. You will focus on reliability, precision, and safety to keep lines running smoothly.

This 1st shift (Mon–Thu, 4:00am–2:30pm) collaborates with packaging and engineering teams on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects to maximize line efficiency and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least four years' experience with automated controls or electromechanical manufacturing equipment.
• Must be able to work 1st shift (Mon-Thu, 4:00am-2:30pm).
• Willing to comply with dress code and training and work in environment with exposure to dust and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Preventive and corrective maintenance of packaging equipment
• Assist packaging personnel in changeover and operation of packaging equipment
• Assist Engineering in projects and continuous improvement
• Set up and adjust equipment for different product sizes according to line sheets
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities and provide input into improvements or additions to PM routines
• Observing equipment in operation to diagnose source of problems affecting line performance and implementing corrective action
• Dismantle or partially dismantle equipment and perform repairs, replacing broken or defective parts and return equipment to operation.
• Prepare written specifications for major repair parts acquired through established vendors or from various machine shops
• Recommend improvements for equipment operation and changeover
• Work with packaging operations in to achieve maximum operating efficiency
• Maintain clean work areas as required by FDA-cGMP’s

About the job

Your job as a Maintenance Technician for Opella Consumer Healthcare will be responsible for the maintenance and reliability of packaging in compliance with cGMP’s and Standard Operating Procedures, including facilitation of equipment changeover activities.

This is a 1st Shift position. Monday - Thursday. Hours are: 4:00am - 2:30pm

Main responsibilities:

• Dismantle or partially dismantle equipment and perform repairs, replacing broken or defective parts and return equipment to operation.

Other duties will be assigned as required.

Education

You must have a High School Diploma or completed GED.

Experience

Four (4) years' experience working with automated controls and/or electromechanical manufacturing equipment.

Special Requirements

You are required to comply with dress code regulations, be willing to undergo necessary training, and work in conditions with exposure to product, dust, grease, and packing machinery hazards.
