Job description

Maintenance Technician - 1st and 2nd shift

Our client in Faribault, MN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support daily production operations through troubleshooting and continuous improvement of control systems. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining machinery such as motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, welding, machining, and general maintenance functions.

This is a Direct-Hire position with pay rates ranging from $24 to $30 per hour. A shift differential of $1.50/hr applies to the 2nd shift. The schedule is as follows:

  • 1st Shift: 6am-6pm, 3 on-4 off or 4 on-3 off
  • 2nd Shift: 6pm-6am, 3 on-4 off or 4 on-3 off

Essential duties include:

  • Partnering with Quality Assurance to ensure safe, quality foods
  • Analyzing and resolving electrical issues, troubleshooting control systems, PLC programming, HMI systems, and network communications
  • Documenting work procedures and system modifications
  • Installing and maintaining process control instruments
  • Calibrating and repairing pneumatic and electronic instruments
  • Monitoring process flow and machine settings
  • Identifying line performance issues and troubleshooting
  • Installing and repairing processing equipment
  • Maintaining equipment via a Planned Maintenance Program
  • Ensuring safety and compliance with safety procedures
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Meeting attendance requirements and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two-year technical certificate or 6-12 months related experience
  • 1-3 years in a multi-shift manufacturing environment
