Job summary

Kerry's Manitowoc, WI facility is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Smoke and Grill Division, maintaining equipment, performing repairs and preventive maintenance on a 12-hour night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM) with a 4-on, 4-off rotating schedule.

You’ll work with our maintenance team to ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment along Lake Michigan.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of General Maintenance Experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment; food/beverage experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform building repairs and equipment installation.
• Troubleshoot and complete work orders in a timely fashion.
• Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance with good manufacturing practices.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and housekeeping as part of daily duties.

What you'll do

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll work with the Maintenance team to complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting and installation, fulfillment of assigned work orders and unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion. You’ll follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, preventative maintenance, good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations. Important areas of operations you’ll work on (but are not limited to)

• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic steam, pneumatic equipment
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment
• Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep

What you'll need to be successful

• 2+ years of General Maintenance Experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment & food/beverage experience is highly preferred
• High school diploma or GED is required; associated degree in relevant field preferred
• Possess and demonstrate basic technical knowledge of some or all of the following
• Stainless Steel Welding/Fabrication
• Ability to be or become or is a Sanitary Certified welder. (outside certification)
• Piping systems
• Electricity
• PLC’s (Programmable logic controllers) – a plus
• Process control instrumentation
• HVAC systems
• Process equipment
• Personal Computing

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $23 - $38 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
