Job Description:

This role will provide a $2,500 Sign-on bonus. We are currently hiring for a 12-hour Night Shift schedule.

The Maintenance Technicians are multi-skilled system experts in their assigned area and are highly functional in multiple areas. They must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality, and continuous improvement. The Technicians function as members of a maintenance team responsible for maintaining assets to a baseline state, including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of machinery in their assigned area. This role requires strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills to support site objectives.

What are we looking for?

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Industrial Maintenance, Journeyman, or vocational schooling preferred. Must demonstrate experience with mechanical-electrical skills.
• Some previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Lifting 25 lbs.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Excel and Word.

Knowledge / Experience

• Ability to learn additional skills and develop responsibilities over time.
• Experience with machine shop tools, fabrication, welding, plumbing, or pipefitting is a bonus but not required.
• Strong understanding of factory processes.
• Strong analytical, mechanical, and electrical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to transfer knowledge and train others.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel to other Royal Canin sites for training and maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform activities within assigned lines or areas.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Address problems to root cause and perform routine repairs and adjustments.
• Perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment within close tolerances.
• Support operations with equipment setup, changeovers, and operator training in Autonomous Maintenance activities.
• Understand maintenance scheduling, planning, and inventory management.
• Respond to reactive maintenance calls during the shift.
• Complete work orders as scheduled and reactive calls.
• Communicate effectively with operators, peers, supervisors, and management daily.
• Support team efforts, demonstrate high customer focus, and adhere to safety and quality policies.
• Operate a forklift and computer systems for work order documentation.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Maintain organization and care of tools and equipment.
• Work well in team environments, taking initiative and solving problems collaboratively.
